Food + Drink
Even though I am highly disappointed that the Redskins aren’t going to the Superbowl, because they are my favorite team, I am still excited to get to watch the big game! Watching the Superbowl has always been a family favorite. Even if our favorite team isn’t playing, we always seem to make the game fun! Whether we are making some fun family bets, eating delicious food, or just laughing at all of the funny commercials, watching football is always best with family!
Food is another thing that dictates my family, as I’m sure it does many others. But, I am partial to my family, because all the ladies in my family truly know good food. As I have said before, I feel that all of my childhood memories revolve around our kitchen, even my grandma’s kitchen when I was a little girl . Food will always be close to my heart and so will this Turkey Taco Dip.
Today I wanted to share one of my all time favorite family recipes. This Turkey Taco Dip is savory and is a go-to recipe among the family My mom and I recently decided to switch out ground beef, for gourd turkey, to make the recipe a “little healthier.” by no mean is this recipe healthy, but by all means it is delicious! This dip is great because you can serve it in individual bowls, or just in a big bowl with a side of chips. You can dress it up with lettuce, tomato and sour cream, or leave it plain which is just as yummy! It is quick to make and is sure to please! I think that this recipe is perfect to serve for the Superbowl, but has always been whipped up as a pre dinner snack on my family! I hope that you will try it out and be sure to share a picture with me if you do!
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 lb. mild sausage
- 1 lb. Velveeta Cheese
- 1 jar of salsa
- Brown ground turkey and sausage in a pan
- Add Velveeta Cheese and allow to melt
- Add jay of salsa and combine ingredients
- Allow dip to simmer for 20 minutes
- You can use ground beef, instead of ground turkey, for a fuller flavor.
- Serve plain, or with lettuce, tomatoes, and/or sour cream. Tostitos scoops go great with this dip! You can serve individually in small bowls or together in one big pot!
