These days I usually just throw some spinach, or kale, frozen fruits and a little water or juice, into the blender and blend up! But if you’re new to green smoothies, you will probably prefer something with a little more sweetness and flavor, like this Tropical Green Smoothie recipe. It’s super simple and quick, plus it tastes sweet and fruity AND you are getting in your greens! What’s not to love?
One of my favorite things to, when making a smoothie, is use frozen tropical fruits! They add so much sweetness and are an assortment of yummy fruits. Usually you can find combinations something like banana, mango, pineapple, and strawberry. So delicious! I have found that when it comes to smoothies, the more you think about it, the more complicated it becomes. Try adding a handful of greens, your favorite frozen fruit, a ¼ cup of yogurt and a little juice, or water and blend! It’s not difficult and is a great snack, or a delicious and refreshing breakfast!
Tropical Green Smoothie
What You Will Need
- ¼ cup of yogurt (use nonfat greek to cut some calories and added sugar)
- 1 cup of spinach (a good handful)
- 1 cup of frozen tropical fruit
- ⅓ cup of peach nectar
- ¼ cup of water
If you don’t have peach nectar (I usually don’t keep it in the house, but it’s just such a delicious treat) substitute it and the water, for ½ cup of orange juice or whatever fresh juice you have on hand!
Step 1: Add all ingredients to a blender
Step 2: Blend, Blend, Blend!
This recipe is a go-to favorite of mine! Like I said before, peach nectar is a delicious treat and adds a ton of sweetness! If you don’t have it on hand, just use some orange juice or your other favorite juice, like pineapple! Yum!
