As you probably already know, Jay and I took a vacation to Palm Beach a few weeks ago and had the best time! We have been nonstop since before our wedding and it seemed like life was starting to get away from us and Palm Beach did just the trick of getting us recharged, inspired and feeling a little more grounded.
Prior to our trip, I did a little research on Palm Beach because neither of us had traveled there before and I was so excited to do a little splurging and relaxing. Thankfully we were able to do a little bit of everything and if I could move there tommorow, I would be packing my bags as week speak! Palm Beach was truly one of the best trips we have taken and I’m so thankful for the opportunity, so I thought I would share a recap of our trip and share some of favorite restaurants, shops and experiences!
Palm Beach Recap
I have to say that one of the most exciting things about our trip was our stay at The Breakers! You guys, I cannot tell you just how wonderful our stay was. When considering where to stay, I had seen so many bloggers stay at The Breakers, The Colony, and The Brazilian Court. Having never been to Palm Beach, I was really struggling with where we should stay and I also considered staying at the Four Seasons, because that looked really nice too. After staying at The Breakers for 5 nights, and visiting other hotels just to see, I can say without a doubt that I am so happy we decided to stay at The Breakers. Not only was the property absolutely gorgeous and located near shopping and directly on the beach, but the service was out of this world. The decor was elegant, timeless and you could just feel the quality of the building and environment. I love having the opportunity to stay places that are beautiful and historic, but sometimes those features can bring about an uncomfortable vibe. The Breakers was so comfortable, I just can’t rave enough about it. Imagine the most elegant and ritzy hotel, accompanied by the most friendly service and an environment that was welcoming enough that it literally felt like home. You can count me IN on any trips to The Breakers in the future.
Oh my goodness. The Spa at The Breakers is by far the best spa I have ever visited. I stopped in for a massage and facial and didn’t think I would ever leave. The decor was both beautiful and comfortable and the services were immaculate. If you are in the Palm Beach area, you for sure need to stay at The Breakers but even if you aren’t staying there, you need to go to the spa!
I purposely left out how delicious all of the food was at The Breakers because I wanted to share some of our favorite dining spots there!
The options for activities are endless at The Breakers! Jay and I decided to rent bikes for a few hours one day and go exploring! We saw the most unimaginable and beautiful homes. We had a blast just riding around and seeing the house and others sites. This was also when we discovered Nick and Johnnies’! See more on that below. Other than that, and shopping, we spent most of our time by the pool! This whole goal for us was to relax and rest so we did just that, along with some eating and reading!
I had to share HMF first because Jay and I ate here two nights out of our trip. Although one night we technically only had dessert, the dessert was so incredible that it totally counts as more than just dessert! HMF offers a variety of tapas style plates that are out of this world delicious and cocktails that are just incomparable. If you go you have to have The Chanel #6 to drink, the Korean Short Ribs, anything from the Sushi menu and don’t forget the Warm Heath Bar Toffee Cookie for dessert. This is the absolute best dessert I’ve ever had! The lounge like environment is complete with draw dropping chandeliers, cigar options and music that puts a smile on your face. If I had to recommend one one place to eat at The Breakers this would be number one. But thats not to say that the rest of their dining options aren’t above par, because you can’t go wrong with any option they have!
The Italian Restaurant
On the spa night we stopped into HMF for the best dessert ever, we had first visited The Italian Restaurant (also at The Breakers) for a big bowl of pasta, an assortment of bread options and a full glass of wine! I have to say, after an early morning of traveling and a full day at the pool this gal was ready for a hearty dinner. The Shrimp Scampi did not disappoint and Jay loved his go-to Lasagna!
The Beach Club Restaurant
Jay and I spent as much time as possible at the pool and therefore we dined at The Beach Club Restaurant almost daily for breakfast and lunch. Our room included a daily breakfast buffet at The Beach Club Restaurant and this wasn’t the average breakfast buffet. I ate Eggs Benedict every morning and the Chia Pudding and Yogurt Parfaits were unforgettable!
Pizza Al Fresco
If you are traveling with me, you can bet your money that I will have all of the shopping areas scouted out prior to booking and if there ins’t good shopping, we might just have to reconsider our location (however, there are a few exceptions)! On our first trip to Worth Avenue, Jay and I stopped into Pizza Al Fresco for a little lunch and wine. Of course, neither one of us had pizza but their Caprese Sandwich was absolutely delicious. The mozzarella was so fresh and just the best I have ever had. I can only imagine how delicious their pizza is!
Our second stop on Worth Avenue was Ta-boo’. Here were enjoyed a few happy hour appetizers and an afternoon cocktail. It was the perfect way to celebrate an exciting purchase and was on Jay’s Palm Beach list of places to visit after reading Snow on the Palms.
Nick and Johnnie’s
I feel like sharing how delicious Nick and Johnnie’s was isn’t entirely fair now that they are permanently closed, but if you were lucky enough to eat there prior to them closing then you know just how delicious it was! This avocado, shrimp bowl was absolutely divine and let’s not forget the rosè!
Worth Avenue was definitely my number one shopping destination. There are so many great shops there that range from Hermès to Palm Beach originals, so you definitely want to stop by! Here are a list of the shops we visited and would recommend on Worth Avenue!
- Calypso St. Barth -one of my favorite vacation stores!
- CJ Laing- by far one of my favorite stops!
- Chanel- the Worth Avenue Chanel store was a dream!
- Hermès- see what I purchased here!
- Island Company- I adore their clothing & we enjoyed a signature cocktail here while shopping!
- Louis Vuitton
- Neiman Marcus
- Island Home- I could have just move right in!
- Stubbs & Wootton
Shops at The Breakers
- News & Gourmet- The signature gift shop is by far the best I have ever seen, rivaling my all time favorite at Palmetto Bluff! Don’t forget to enjoy your coffee and breakfast outside in the courtyard. It’s just perfect!
- Lilly Pulitzer- It wouldn’t be Palm Beach, or The Breakers, without a little Lilly!
- Mix- Accessories, jewelry and the store that has me in love with Sydney Evan!
- Match-The shoe store that has everything from Stuart Weitzman and Tory Burch to Jack Rogers!
On My Shopping List for Next Time
- Hive Home, Gift and Garden
Overall, we just had the best time. I truly could not have asked for a better vacation that was compelled with all of our favorite things. Palm Beach is definitely on our travel destination list for the future to revisit again. We stopped into The Colony to have drinks at the their poolside bar, unfortunately it was already closed of the day! Maybe next time…
