Lifestyle

A couple of months ago, I shared my March Favorites and that seemed to go over well, so I’m excited to report on my May Favorites this month! April and May went by so fast, it’s hard to believe that it’s already June.

These past two months have been such a blessing for Jay and I. I have learned so much about myself and my business. I have also found quite a few great new products and pieces, that I’m excited to share with you. The weather was so beautiful towards the beginning of the month and the past couple of weeks it has been a complete washout! I’m so tired of the rain and hope that June brings some sunshine and warmer weather.

May Favorites

During the month of May, I took my little blogging break and it was so good for my soul. During that break, I decided that I would begin posting on my blog twice a week and do my best to put out more videos on my Youtube channel. It feels so good to be sharing more relaxed video content. Be sure to head over to my channel to get a glimpse at our month of May.

May Favorites and Review

Drunk Elephant Skincare

I have been sharing my love for the Drunk Elephant Babyfacial mask a ton recently and since I fell so hard for that, I ended up buying several more Drunk Elephant products from the Sephora Beauty Insider sale. My love for this brand has grown bigger and stronger, over the past couple of months and I’m happy to recommend their Jelly Cleanser and their  C-Firma Day Serum. These products are so effective and have treated my skin so well this past month.

Dr. Jart+ Sheet Masks

Another skincare favorite has been the Dr. Jart+ Sheet Masks. I prefer the Brightening mask and the Clearing Solutions Mask, as they suit my skin type best. However, they offer a variety of sheet masks that target different concerns. I also found the pore strip mask extremely effective and my newest favorite is this rubber sheet mask. This feels heavenly on my skin and I am about to stock up on them! If I had to recommend one it would definitely be the rubber sheet masks!

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Line

Somewhere around the end of April, beginning of May, I decided to switch up my foundation and I couldn’t be more thankful that I did! Going back to Laura Mercier, was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. Her color range of foundations is amazing and I feel like they are really just the most natural colors you can find. This foundation is a medium, buildable, coverage and perfect for my skin type. It is both oil-free and fragrance-free, which is essential for me. The foundation wears well and generally lasts for quite a while.

I never thought I would find a concealer that I love more than the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. Until now. This one completely blows that out of the water. I love the applicator wand, the buildable covers, the color range, the wearability, just basically everything about this concealer I adore.

The Flawless Fusion Line is a new favorite that I think will be around for a while!

Tkees Flip Flops

I purchased these flip flops back in January, for our trip to Miami. My other pair of flip-flops were pretty worn out and I was just looking for a very simple pair that would just look effortless but were still comfortable. These are not Dr. Scholl’s shoes but for a simple flip-flop, I couldn’t ask for more! Plus, the price is pretty fair, in my opinion. They come in a variety of other colors and I wouldn’t be opposed to purchasing another pair.

BBG

Exercise has always been a challenge for me. I’m not someone who generally loves working out or pushing myself to the limit. I love going on leisure walks with Jay and Diesel, but true exercise is just not my thing. I also really love to eat delicious and indulgent foods. You can probably see where these two contradicting traits could potentially create a problem for me in the weight gaining department.

I have never been extremely overweight, but I always hold onto a few more pounds than what I would like to have. Lately, I have been doing the BBG workout and I wouldn’t say that I love it. It’s hard. But, I feel like I am seeing small changes in my body here, and there, which makes me happy. I’m on week 8 and completed the 4 weeks of pre-training. I’m still not doing the weekly “LISS” but I will probably start adding that in soon, now that the weather is warming up. You can read more about my thoughts on BBG here.

I took last week off because I wasn’t feeling well. I just started week 8 today!

LuLu Lemon Align Pant

Because I have been working out more, I decided to treat myself to a few new pieces from LuLu Lemon! They are definitely my favorite activewear brand, that encompasses the quality and style I look for. Most importantly because of their options for high waisted leggings. Let’s be real, your girl wants high waisted leggings to cover that bottom fat roll.đŸ™ˆ It’s essential.

However, I picked up two pairs of the align leggings because they are so soft. They literally feel like oyu are wearing nothing. #GOALS I just can’t get enough of these pants. Even though they are probably designed more for yoga, I still love walking and doing BBG in them. They are simply the best!

Friend of Sinners

During April and May, I worked my way through this book. Jay and I also established that now we have to move to Miami, so we can attend Vous Church and worship with this amazing group of people! I love this book because it touches really close to home with my relationship with Christ. Everyone’s spiritual life is different, but for me, this book accurately depicts the Christian that I want to be. It shares stories from the Bible and shares the Jesus who is the Friend of Sinners. The one who does not turn his back and encourages us to love others and lead them to Jesus.

I can’t tell you just how much I have been enjoying this book!

Working on Our Home

Anyone who is newly out on their own, or has just built a home, knows how difficult it can be to pull everything together. We have been taking our time to get things just the way that we want them and I’m so happy with how everything has been going lately. Jay is truly a dream and has been working so hard outside to get our home ready for spring. I can’t wait to show a few updates soon! Here is what we have been up to…

  • Working with what we have
  • Front walkway
  • Creating our garden
  • Tending to plants who didn’t do so well over the Winter
  • Drapery and shades for the Master
  • Artwork for our powder room

Everything takes time and last year just flew by. My goal for this year was to just work on a little at a time and not get overwhelmed with too many big projects. So far, this has been working! I’m so thankful for our many blessings!
