I can honestly say that recipes have easily become one of my favorite types of posts to share! Thankfully, they are generally pretty popular among my readers, so I don’t feel too guilty about sharing them! 😉
As the warmer months approach us, and the sun has began to shine, at least one day per week in Virginia, [seriously, I can’t take another cloudy day], I have been thinking of all of my favorite summer drinks and cocktails. Besides Rosé, the first drink that comes to mind is Lemonade! Lemonade, is a summertime classic that finds itself in the hands of both kids, and adults, during the warmer months of the year!
It’s only fair for me to be up front with you about the way I like my Lemonade. First of all, I love lemonade. But I love home homemade lemonade. When it comes to lemonade, mine has to be homemade, I never order other lemonades when I’m out at a restaurant, or buy them at the store. I like mine best when it’s made at home!
For today’s lemonade recipe, I wanted to switch things up a bit and add a little special touch to my favorite lemonade recipe! Lavender Lemonade is all the rage for this summer, so I wanted to share my easy spin on this recipe! I combined a quick lavender simple syrup with my traditional and easy lemonade recipe, to create the perfect lavender lemonade!
This lemonade is a decadent twist to traditional lemonade to create a more sophisticated adult beverage! It is sweet enough, your kids will love it, or you can add a splash of vodka, or a few sips of champagne, to create a luxurious and refreshing summer cocktail for the adults!
Not only does the drink taste ahhh-mazing, but it’s garnish is so chic! I am head over heels for the lemon and lavender combo, [hence this lavender lemonade recipe], the lavender purple shade and citrus yellow establish the most gorgeous color palette! Add a slice of lemon, a spring of lavender, or both to your drink. You can serve this in a tall class, short class, or in this case a martini glass! Have fun with it, as you can dress it up or down, and it will still taste divine either way!
- 6 Lemons
- 1 cup Sugar
- 4 cups Water
- 3 tablespoons Lavender or about 8-10 sprigs
- Combine sugar, lavender and 1 cup of water in a small sauce pan.
- Bring to a boil for about 2 minutes. Stir frequently to ensure all sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Remove lavender springs and leaves from syrup.
- Juice 6 lemons into a pitcher.
- Fill pitcher 3/4s full with ice.
- Add three cups of water.
- Add lavender simple syrup.
- Stir until mixture is thoroughly combined.
