Home Series updates are one of my favorite type of posts to share with you, because I just get so excited that we are actually getting a house! Blessed is an understatement, and I think stressed might be one as well-haha! Things are moving along decently, we haven’t had any major holdups, however things are starting to slow down a bit. It’s amazing how each step of the process is so different. Some steps go by so fast, others take longer, some are like BAM you have a house and then some things just go unnoticed and I’m like wait “What did you actually do?”. I’m truly amazed at the process and can sometimes struggle to determine whether the tears I have are of joy, or anxiety. But that’s just life right?
Either way, I’m so thankful for this opportunity and I’m so excited for the future and each day that passes. I haven’t quite figured out the right pace of these posts. I feel like this may partially be a repeat of the last post, about drywall, however I’m including a few exterior photos in the posts. Let me tell you, we have come a long way!
Decision making is troubling me quite a bit lately, I just feel like every decision I make is for life, when unreality it isn’t. I don’t want to make poor choices, however there will always be things we will want to change later down the road, that’s just the way it is. So all I can do is make the best decision that I can now! Plus, I think me stressing is stressing Jay even more then what he already is, and that is definitely not needed.
Last week Jay and I ordered tile, which was quite the ordeal. I’m pretty sure the lady who helped me, never wants to see me again–haha. She was SO sweet though and very helpful. I love designing things, finding inspiration on Pinterest and from some of my favorite bloggers. But, sometimes things just get tough and tile definitely gave me a run for my money. In the end, I think we made a great decision and I can’t wait to share it with you soon!
Yesterday, I made the decision for our interior doors, how many panels they will have and what they will look like. I went a bit more modern with this portion and decided to go with a variety of doors and not make every door the same! Every single door isn’t different, but I went with one style upstairs, a different style downstairs and something super chic for our closet door!
Also, I am doing all kinds of research on light fixtures and trying to figure out how I’m not going to have a Darlana Lantern in every room. Seriously though, how gorgeous are they?! If you have any light fixture recommendations, or some that I should look at, please share! I’m always open to recommendations and suggestions.

I feel like I always say that we have exciting things coming up, because we do! But honestly I’m so excited that we are working on the interior and can’t wait to share some of my inspiration with you soon! The home updates will probably be more frequent now that we have more visible and tangible things happening. Yay! I’m always snapping away so be sure to follow me on Instagram, I share all of our home pictures to #futureparlettresidence. Definitely follow me on snap “timeless taste” also! I know I have done a ton of house touring already and it’s much easier for me to just snap a video when I’m at the house!
I hope you enjoyed this update, if you have any questions, please let me know.Don’t forget to see my other home series posts here!
