Although nothing drastic has changed since my last update, I wanted to share my Home Series 2 post before things begin to get a little crazy over at the “Future Parlett Residence!” Today, I’m sharing the Home Series: Plumbing Rough In and Windows post!
We officially have windows! Our framing is, pretty much, complete other than a few change orders! I have found that no matter how much you plan, there will always be something that you would like to have changed. It’s amazing how the framing really brings the house to life! It also creates little spaces that you never knew you would have. We are still debating on turning a few little nooks into small closets, or something. We already ave a huge attic, that is accessible by a full sized door, so that is wonderful. So other than the one, small change inside that we are making, our framing is done! The framers just have to come back to finish that and set our back doors, which will hopefully be here soon [fingers crossed!]
It is finally looking like a house and having windows has really helped make everything look more and more complete. The plumber has basically finished his rough in and our central vacuum system rough it is almost finished as well. There are a few small things they need to do to finish it off, however for right now, their work is done! The brick mason finished bricking up our chimney, and front and back outdoor steps! They look so beautiful, he truly did such a wonderful job!
The Enviroshake roofing has finally arrived and the roofer began working yesterday! I cannot tell you how happy we are to finally be getting a roof! Once the roof is complete, other trades can begin to work and we will be closer to our “rough in” inspections!
We have been very blessed to not really have any “hold-ups.” We have had a few periods thus far, and I am sure there will be more in the future, where we were either waiting on materials or waiting on a trade to begin work. Thankfully, none of these periods have been devastatingly long, at the most we have had a 2 week period where no one was really working. Luckily, now that the roofing is going on, other trades [electrical, HVAC, and the siding] will be able to begin work, just as soon as the roof is completed!
As far as inspections, we have not had an inspection since the foundation was complete, so we will have our “rough in” inspections very soon, [praying everything will be passed and we can move along.]
We are hoping that are french doors, for the back porch, will be here soon! Once all of the rough-ins are complete we can begin sheetrock. We are planning on meeting with a carpenter, about our cabinets, very soon. I have know idea what I want, as far as specific details, when it comes to cabinets. We also have to figure out our closet design!
I’m so excited that we are finally going to being working on the inside, very soon! We are so blessed to have this opportunity and are thankful for it everyday! It seems that I am spending endless hours on Pinterest pinning away home inspiration [follow me for more home inspiration!] I have no clue how we will ever decide on a paint color! I want everything to be very light and have a clean feel to it. So, we are thinking a very light, cool tone color. Maybe a very light blue, grey, or white? I have NO idea! #letthestressbegin I have also been spending a lot of my time look of furniture. I cannot tell you how much I loveThe Cross Design! You have to check our their website, I know you will love it.
For now, that’s our update! I know it isn’t a huge one. But, I would like to continue these small updates. If you like them, please let me know, so I will continue to do them! The next update should have a completed roof, back doors, and maybe some sheetrock! eeeek, I can’t even wait! I also really want to create a snapchat, to share updates and behind the scenes pictures of Timeless Taste, however I am still debating! I would love to know your thoughts on snapchat!!
