Happy Friday Y’all!!
As the weeks of school are winding down [the weeks, not the course load, lol], the Holidays are continuously making their presence! Whether you are celebrating Friendsgiving, having family over for Thanksgiving or are just looking for a little Holiday cheer, this Hard Apple Cider cocktail is definitely one to include in all of tour festivities. I have always loved Apple Cider. When I was little my parents would take me to the Grand Illumination, in Williamsburg, and the first thing I would do was get a hot Apple Cider! I’m convinced that Williamsburg has the best Apple Cider, if you have been you know what I’m talking about.
I am such a wine and champagne lover, that I often forget about making cocktails with other types of alcohol [but hey, you like what you like!]. So today I wanted to share a delicious and fancy little holiday cocktail, that doesn’t use champagne or wine, that you can make in just a few short minutes! I have a feeling your guests will love the taste and think that you spent quite a good amount of time putting together, when really it only takes a few short minutes. Let’s get started!
For the alcohol I used Evan Williams Apple Orchard Bourbon [I think it is Evan Williams Kentucky Cider now], which is so delicious especially for the Holiday’s. I combine this with a little bit of Apple Cider, coated a martini glass rim with caramel, and garnished with cranberries! SO easy!
Recipe [2 servings]
Evan Williams Kentucky Cider [or plain Bourbon]
First, pour a little caramel sauce onto a plate and coat the rim of the martini glasses. Using about three plain cranberries, that have not been cooked [these are just for garnish, I would not recommend eating them], place them onto a toothpick leaving a little distance between the two at the top enabling them to balance on the rim of the glass. Fill a shaker with ice and add about 3 ounces of the bourbon of your choice, 2 ounces of apple cider, and give it a good shake. You can obviously use more or less bourbon depending on the type you use and what your preference is! Pour into your glass and serve! If you are making more than two of these cocktails, simply double or triple the recipe!
This recipe is easy, fun [who doesn’t like shaking up a drink?], and satisfying! Like I mention at the beginning, I’m not really a liquor drinker and I definitely enjoy this drink because it is so smooth and doesn’t give me the chills, lol! Plus, you can even garnish it with apples, I just like the touch of red with the cranberries. That is what I love so much about cocktails, other than the taste, is that you can play with them and create them your own! If you are not twenty one, you can follow the same recipe just omit the alcohol, or you could add ginger ale to spice things up!
