Dressing the part can sometimes be a challenge. While I love fun fashion, pretty shoes, and we all know I am a  slave to my accessories [they are my besties], uncomfortable suites and tights just aren’t my thing. Although, over the year I have found that dressing for success, literally, boost my self confidence by a huge percentage. I could be wrong, but I’m thinking dress well makes you feel good too?

Recently, I found myself reaching for a few key pieces, to pull together a Business Casual Outfit on the fly. And let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint! Before we get into it, I will say upfront that I did not ditch my jeans. We all know how much I love them too. This outfit may not be suitable for all occasions, but I think that any reasonable person would accept this as fashionable Business Casual, and appropriate for most! Don’t forget, that you want to keep your makeup natural and just focus on enhancing your natural beauty. No bright/dark shadow. Just keep your makeup and hair simple!

I often turn to this outfit combination when I need little pep in my step, or I’m just not feeling myself that day. I don’t know what it is about a blazer that just makes me think, “You got this girl!” I hope it makes you feel the same way too!

  1. Good Quality Dark Wash Jeans

Starting with a good pair of denim always gives a more polished appearance. Denim is definitely something that is high up on my list of investment pieces. The comfort, lasting qualities and overall beauty has me hooked! Denim is definitely not appropriate in all circumstances, however I think for a good business casual look, denim can be a great option!

My favorite is this pair!

  1. Navy Blue Blazer

A navy blazer is a must have in every woman’s closet! I cannot even begin to tell you just how much I wear mine. I had no idea when I purchased mine, that I would fall in love with it as much as I did! A blazer can finish off any look and is definitely a must in most Business Casual outfits! I love a beautiful blazer paired with distressed denim, cute flats and a top knot! In my eyes it s the ultimate #girlboss outfit, so ladies pull out your blazers!

This blazer is very similar to mine!
  1. Go- To Top (Polished T-shirt or an Oxford)

As far as a top to wear under the blazer, I would suggest picking something that is flattering on you and you feel good in! If you are going for something more formal, go for an oxford or button down. If the situation is more casual, pair your blazer with your favorite neutral colored t-shirt!

This Joie top that I am wearing is great and very versatile! But I love this one too!
  1.  Shoes: Loafers, Heels, Flats

Picking the right shoes is key no matter the occasion! Keeping comfort in mind is essential and knowing what shoes we can walk comfortably in. Loafers are always a classic look and are great for walking, if you will have to walk city streets, or long distances. Flats are another stylish option. I don’t find flats to be nearly as comfortable, as loafers, however they always look cute and chic! And, if you are a pro, grab your favorite pair of heels because they always look wonderful! Just a song as you have the paid that will allow your feet to forgive after a few hours 😉

I LOVE these! I think I need them in my closet!
  1. Tote

Chances are, if you are Dressing Business Casual, you are either working, attending school, or are in route to another important meeting! Being able to carrying essential documents, agendas, your laptop, cell phone and other valuables, carefully and comfortably, while still dressing the part can’t be challenging. Your favorite L.L. Bean backpack, is probably not going to cut it in the business world, so finding a good tote bag should be on your radar! There are so many appropriate ones out there, at many price points, so the hunt should not be too difficult! I have linked some of my favorites below!

I think that this one is beautiful! I have recently been wanting to purchase it, but keep telling myself, you don’t need that!

I have found that sticking to this basic format, and adjusting it when necessary to fit the occasion, has not only made dressing for these events easier. Rather, it has shown me that dressing in this way can help increase my self confidence and makes me fell better overall! I just love it! Dressing for success is no joke, and I think there is definitely something to be said for it!
