Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation Review

When purchasing foundation, I always keep a few things in mind. Coverage, appearance, wearability, and comfort. A couple of months ago I decided to give the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation a go and I’m so glad that I did! You already know that I have quite troubled skin. It is combination oily and so sensitive and prone to breakouts. What I eat affects my skin majorly, the amount of water I drink and also the products I put on my skin. Lately, I have been working hard to get my skincare in line. You can see my morning skincare routine here.

Foundation is huge when it comes to makeup. Not only is it the base of our makeup routine but we usually wear it for long periods of time. I am the first one to admit that it has been a long time since I have worn any Clinique makeup, especially foundation. However, I was in the market for a new foundation and wanted to try something that was actually good for my skin. I decided to give the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation a go and I couldn’t happier with the results.

Coverage + Consistency

One of my favorite things about this foundation is its coverage and how easy it is to apply. I love a foundation with buildable coverage and this one has just that. Initially, the coverage is a good medium, I would say. It isn’t too light but it gives you a good coverage that is easily buildable. I love being able to spot treat any areas that need a little more coverage.

Another one of my favorite things about this foundation is the wand applicator. This makes application easy and mess-free. It also allows me to spot treat any troubled areas for additional coverage. After using this foundation with a wand applicator, it will be so hard to use anything else!

Even though I love a glam look, I always aim for my foundation to look as natural as possible. No one wants to have a foundation line, uneven coloring or texture. Instead, I always want my foundation to look as if my own skin is just simply flawless. I love how the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation is like my skin but better. It isn’t too matte or too glowy, it just has a very youthful and flawless appearance.

Another wonderful thing about this foundation is its long wearability. Upon application, the foundation has a slow dry formula which allows adequate time for blending and building coverage. Once the foundation is set, it lasts all day. I do occasionally get extra oily on my nose and have to powder that area. Other than that, the foundation really stays put once applied.

Lastly, another important factor, for me, when consideration foundation or really any makeup in general, is the comfort. How does the product actually feel on my skin? Is it irritating? Are than any fragrances that aggravate my skin? Does it feel too heavy, wet or dry? For me, this foundation is one of the most comfortable ones I have worn in a while. Once in place, it doesn’t budge. It is lightweight but still provides the coverage I need. Most importantly, for me, there is no fragrance with this foundation

If you follow my blog, you know that I love luxury items. Unfortunately, with high-end foundations often comes a beautiful fragrance. However, if you have sensitive skin, that is not what you like, or at least I sure don’t. I love that the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation is fragrance-free. It provides hydration where I need it but is not oily or uncomfortable on my skin.

Overall, I truly love this foundation. I could honestly recommend this foundation to anyone. It’s pretty rare to find a foundation that is suitable for both dry and oily skin. This one is! Not to mention, with a price point of only $28 it comes in on the relatively inexpensive side of foundations that are not from the drugstore.

So weird, almost everyone loves this foundation, but it goes on very cakey for me and sits on pores, showcasing them, making them look like craters.. I was just told that it looks bad until it sets, but I’ve used over 30 foundations and apart from them looking more natural and melding with my skin more throughout the day (but I’ve never had one look qso cakey or 1 that sat on top of pores instead of blending in, ive tried using a beauty blender, Artis brush, paddle foundation brush, stippling brush, Mac 170 which is 1 of many buffing brushes I tried, tried my Kabuki, and even my hands.. tried diff primers, tried no primers… I don’t get it!!

You are right that is the worse foundation ever it does the opposite of. What it claims to do. Its horrible and dries your skin out.
