There is no doubt in my mind that you have heard the phrase clean beauty come out of my mouth recently. After diving in the Goop world, and researching a little more about clean beauty products. I decided to go ahead and give some clean beauty products a try. You could now say that I’m a new convert to clean beauty or at the least, extremely fascinated.

I never really set out to trade in a bunch of products for a more “clean” version, but after giving a few a try I now find myself searching for more, and more, clean products. The story all began with an order from Sephora because I was desperate to try the Summer Friday’s Jet lag mask. I needed some shampoo, so I kept scrolling through the “clean at Sephora” category until I landed on Briogeo. I had heard do this brand before from some other bloggers and decided to give it ago. Here we are two months later and I’m even opting for clean nail polish

Now, I won’t say I live a perfect life, nor will I ever. But, I wanted to share with you 7 clean beauty products to swap right now because I have honestly had better results with these products lately than I have their chemical-filled competitors in the past.

RMS “Un” Cover-Up

This concealer/foundation is incredibly pigmented and hides almost all of my spots. It builds beautifully and I have been wearing this in place of my foundation and concealer for the past month or so. It comes in a very small pot, so I would say if you have great skin and like lighter coverage, you could get away with using this as a foundation every day. If your skin is more troubled like mine, you might want something that is a little more full coverage, or you might use this up quickly. Either way, I have really been loving this and have seen such a huge improvement in my skin since I began using this. My skin is less irritated and less congested! I love it. I purchased the shade 22, but that’s a little too dark for me right now.

RMS “Un”-Powder

After watching a review online that said you need the powder for sure if you have oily skin, I purchased the powder too. I have to give it to RMS, this is the most mattifying powder I have ever used. It really helps hold their foundation/concealer in place for me. However, with oily skin, I would do a mid-day touch up for both. This also doubles as dry shampoo! Not on paper, but when I was in desperate need, it worked wonders!

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

This mask, like I previously mentioned, got this entire clean beauty thing started. I had heard really great things about this mask, but honestly, I was hesitant. The versatility of this product is shocking. For someone with oily skin, I don’t find that it’s too much for my skin. I even use it as a moisturizer, sometimes, if my skin is feeling drier and under my eyes at night. I will even sometimes apply a thick layer on my lips as a little treatment for them. This product is amazingly versatile and can be used for almost anything!

Briogeo Shampoo and Conditioner

Oily skin and scalp have been something I have dealt with my entire life, mostly. My second-day hair looks oily and you can forget third-day hair altogether. I decided to give the Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner a try. And, if that isn’t a mouthful I don’t know what is! With an oily scalp and thin hair, you can guess that I usually go for volumizing shampoos. This set has truly been heaven sent for my hair and Jay’s too. It leaves my hair feeling soft, but not oily, and truly weightless. It smells amazing and is free of silicones, sulfates, parabens, artificial fragrances, and artificial dyes. Also, it is vegan-friendly and cruelty-free!

Briogeo Scalp Revival

I’m generally not one to care for my hair or do too much with it at all. I am all about voluminous waves, but that’s about the extent of my hair styling. I’m trying to get better about that! However, I loved the Briogeo Shampoo and Conditioner so much, that I was dying to try more products from them with the hopes that they would transform my hair and scalp. I decided to try the Scalp Revival next and of course, fell in love. Because of my oil issues, I was extremely hesitant of this one because I am the kind of gal that doesn’t put any kind of treatments on my hair and only applies conditioner from my ear down. I’m happy to report that this did not make my scalp oily or weigh my hair down. I don’t struggle with an itchy or dry scalp, but I will be sure to keep you posted on my hair growth/health soon!

Côte Nail Polish and Nail Polish Remover

One of my most frequently asked questions is about what nail polish color I’m wearing. For the past month, or so, it has been this one! I love this natural pink color form the Goop x Côte collab. It stays on my nails and looks so pretty and natural. They have a ton of color options over on the Côte website. Next on my list is to add the base and top coat from Côte. I also decided to purchase the nail polish remover. For no reason other than I was feeling extra bougie and it was expensive. But, honestly, I was completely shocked at how effective it is and how hydrated my nails are after using this remover. It is acetone free and has ingredients like rosemary leaf extract and aloe-vera juice.

You can see some of my other favorite nail colors here.

Farmacy Clean Bee Cleanser

I started using this cleanser a few months ago (it was in the first Sephora order) because the medicine and cream I was prescribed, by my dermatologist, was causing my skin to be extremely sensitive and irritated. I needed something that was gentle and didn’t make me oily. Hands down this cleanser is amazing. It removes all of my makeup and leaves my skin feeling tight and squeaky clean, which I love! I also love that it has a pump which for me feels much cleaner and easier to use.

Clean beauty, and really just clean living in general, has been an obsession of mine lately. I never really had a clue what kind of chemicals and just really bad ingredients are in the products I put on my skin and use every day. While I still have a long way to go, I’m also proud to be making some positive and clean changes in my life!

I’m eager to learn more about clean beauty products and try out some new things in 2019. As with most things in life, I have a long list of clean products to try this year. I would love to know any of your recommendations and if you are interested in maybe seeing what’s on my clean beauty shopping list, just let me know!
