Red lipstick is very in during this time of the year. Recently, I have been collecting some of my favorites to share with you, for the holiday season. Some of these are new discoveries, that are perfect for the holiday’s, while others are long-time favorites, that I will always love. If you are looking for the perfect red lipstick, lip gloss or liner, I have you covered!
Although I share tons of beauty related content on my Youtube channel, it feels like it has been forever, and a day, since I wrote a beauty post. A couple of years ago, I wrote a post sharing a few tips for applying red lipstick and how to make sure everything goes on and lasts, seamlessly. Those favorites still stand and you might find a few of those red lipsticks listed here. Most of the time, when I wear red lipstick, I am constantly checking myself to make sure I don’t ahve any on my teeth or any other part of my face!If you need some tips for ensuring perfect application, be sure to reference that post!
The Best Red Lipstick
MAC Holiday Snow Ball Red Lip Set
This lip set from MAC is one of my new favorite lip combos. If you are looking for a bright, holiday red color, this is it! Not only is this a great way to get started with a bright red, if you don’t own a lip liner, this set has it all. It also makes the perfect gift. It comes in the chicest metallic, rose gold case that you can reuse however you want. I apply the liner, then lipstick and top it all with a little gloss. At only $39.50, for all three products plus the case, this is definitely the best bang for your buck and makes a great gift too!
Tom Ford Velvet Cherry
This color from Tom Ford has been a favorite of mine for several years. The color is deep and red and truly a classic color, that no one can go wrong with. I love the MAC set, as well as the next YSL color. However, if I am going for a classic red color that makes a statement but isn’t too much, this is the one I go for. The formula of this red lipstick isn’t very moisturizing, instead, it’s much drier. Even though it has a tendency to be drying on my lips, it’s still my favorite because I don’t have worry about it slipping around or rubbing off. I also don’t have to reapply that often, whereas others require a bit more maintenance. With a large price tag of $54, this is definitely the most expensive out of the bunch, but totally worth every penny!
YSL Rouge in Danger
I’m going to be completely honest and tell you that I stole this one from my mom! Sorry, mom! She let me borrow this and I completely fell in love with the color and formula. This bright red is perfect during the summer and really all throughout the year. It has a very moisturizing and hydrating texture that relays the same effects onto your lips. It’s like a lip balm consistency with the pigmentation of a regular lipstick. What more could you want? A $37 price tag makes this luxury lipstick a reasonable price for the quality you receive.
Sephora Collection Always Red
This last lip color, from the Sephora Collection, is actually just a small sample that I have that I pretty much fell in love with too! To be honest, I haven’t ever purchased anything from the Sephora Collection, I have just received a few smalls samples as holiday gifts, from years past. Last year, I received a little lip kit with a variety of their liquid lipsticks and this color was one of them. Out of the few liquid lipsticks, I have tried, this is actually one of my favorites. It’s creamy and matte, but still a beautiful color. It isn’t too drying and gives just as much pigmentation as some luxury brands. If you are looking for something a little more affordable, these are only $14! Here is the gift set I received, that includes this color and a few others that are now my favorites!
I hope you found this post helpful and found a new red lipstick to try! It never fails that even though I am sometimes terrified to break out my favorite red colors, I always feel so empowered and confident when I wear them. If you don’t own a red lipstick, I would recommend picking one of these up!
