The past several weeks have been a whirlwind for me. Life as an adult has been knocking on my door and I have been scrambling to answer, in the best way that I know how. As I have previously mentioned, this year has been a big one! Graduating college, getting married, building a house (self contracting it with Jay, for that fact), and all of the other emotions that go along with each step we have taken in our lives. I have high hopes for the future and all of my plans, prayers and wishes for this blog. I pray that you will continue to support Timeless Taste and share it with your friends, encouraging them to read and follow this journey as well. I wanted to dedicate a post to updating you on my life and what is going on behind the scenes here at Timeless Taste!
Our Home Building Process
Holy cow, this past month has been a big one! I can’t tell you how thankful I am for our home and that the the majority of the process is FINISHED! On Tuesday, November 8, 2016 Jay and I officially passed our final building inspection and got our Certificate of Occupancy. Y’all I cannot tell you how much of a relief this is. We have been stressing, worrying, crying (well that was just me) and praying that everything would go our way. The lord was on our side, as he always is, and I am so thankful! There are still some odds and ends that need to be fixed, and tidied up, however I can say, with belief, that our move it date should be within a couple of weeks. The home update posts have been, by far, my most popular posts on the blog. Those posts have reached extended family and friends, who have followed our journey, supported us and cheered us on when we grew tired. Thank you for reading and for encouraging us. Thank you for loving us, for supporting us, and for lifting us up when you knew we needed it. I would love to continue posting updates, reviews, our thoughts on the process, and even more. I just need to hear from you. What do you want to know about? What are you curious about? Please ask and let me know so I can share more of our journey with you. Also, if you just visited the site to see our home updates, I would love for you to continue to visit the site regularly for the other posts too! Lastly, I just wanted to mention that Jay and I have been vlogging on my youtube channel here, so be sure to go check that out, and subscribe, to see more of our house and everyday life!
SHOP MY WELCOME PARTY LOOK:
Now, what you have been waiting for! I have gotten so many questions, kind words and love, towards our wedding. I promise you, as soon as I get my pictures back from our photographer, I will definitely be sharing them on the blog! We had such an amazing trip and our venue was absolutely incredible. The weather was remarkable and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. We are settling into married life quite well, with the wedding over and the house almost finish, Jay and I have finally had a chance to breathe! Let me tell you, it has been so wonderful, just having a few minutes to talk to each other about something other than the wedding, or house, is simply amazing. We have definitely been talking about the wedding a lot, but in more of a reflective and thankful manor.
Honesty on Timeless Taste
I love Timeless Taste!
I have so many blogpost ideas, but sometimes have difficulty executing and publishing them them. Now, none of this is ANY kind of excuse, nor is it abnormal in anyway, but blogging is much more challenging than it seems! Having the time to do what I need to do, to prepare and publish a blog post, is challenging. But even more so, finding someone to help me with my photos, arranging things and just having an extra hand to make magic happen is hard. At this, Timeless Taste generates barely any revenue. I work hard to link sources, create valuable content and monetize my posts and videos, however it just isn’t enough quite yet. Having a photographer would be a huge help at this point in the process. But, photographers work for a living too and with little to no income created by Timeless Taste, I am struggling on how to invest in the brand as a whole itself. I am passionate about blogging, and sharing my ideas and findings with you, however I would love more than anything to generate a small income from this work that I put in. Over the past year, or so, I have been praying for answers, feedback and a response. I have just been praying for creative inspiration, for motivation and for something to just feel like it fits. When I began this journey many, many, years ago on Youtube, I began as a beauty blogger. Over time, my point of view has shifted somewhat, I have grown as a person, matured, and thus my interests have slightly changed. I cannot say exactly what I want for my future, I have so many dreams and goals, but I know that they all generate from this very blog. Every outcome I can imagine for myself, begins with this blog and sharing my passion with you. I have dreams of becoming a female entrepreneur one day. Now I can’t tell you if that day will be tomorrow, next year, in ten years or if that day will never come. But, I hope you appreciate my honesty and can understand where I am coming from. I do work hard to provide valuable content, that is worth $$$. If you know what I mean. I just want to thank you for your support and ask that if you love my content you will share it.
I know that this post has been a little more detailed, and really open, or at least I feel that it has been! I hope that you have enjoyed the update and appreciate the honesty. I love blogging and I promise that I will continue to blog and work hard for you, my reader! Sometimes its easy to get discouraged, when you want more and are just unsure on how to make it happen. I love writing and this is my creative outlet to share recipes, home decor and everything else that I truly love, so I will never quit sharing (or at least not anytime soon!)
Sometimes, I just really need to understand what you want to read and if you are still interested at all!
I am thankful for each reader that I have and I’m excited to start sharing my Holiday Gift Guides tomorrow!
