Weddings are no joke! The wedding stress is beyond real lately and I can’t help but constantly find myself overwhelmed, crying, and wishing I would have selected a slower time in my life to have our wedding. On the other hand, I’m Pinteresting my life away and thinking what else can I add to my plate?
“Nothing Morgan, do not take on another project!”
When it comes to wedding stress, having your mother, aunts and bridal party to save the day is necessary and sometimes you just have to ask for help. I’m finally getting to that point, where I just have to ask for help. Thankfully I was blessed with so many wonderful women in my life to help me out, when things get overwhelming!
I thought it was finally time to start a wedding series on the blog, so today I wanted to share with you 4 components of the perfect bridal gift bag, and a few fun gifts to include when you ask your bridal party to be with you on your special day [and the crazy days before that special day, lol]. I also wanted to share with you a little peak into how I asked my special ladies!
Whether you are hosting a ladies lunch at your home or going out for dinner and drinks, I think bring a little gift along for your girls is the best way to say “Will you me my bridesmaid?” or “Will you be my maid of honor?” Picking out the little trinkets to go into my bags was one of my favorite parts of the process. I knew that I wanted to include a few chic little gifts, and looking back, I would definitely add in a few other fun things as well. But, when it all boils down, there are endless opportunities and you’re always going to say, “Why didn’t I do that?!”
4 Components of the Perfect Bridal Gift Bag
Picking out the perfect packaging makes gifting that much more fun! I love searching through bags, ribbon and tissue paper, in order to find the perfect combination- owning a little stationary/gifting boutique is one of my dreams! I decided to got for a pretty floral bag with lots of pink and green for my gift bags. You can always use a pretty box or even pick up a monogram cloth bag!
This is one of those things I am kicking myself about, because I didn’t exactly include this in my bags, but I love when people throw in a little spool of ribbon, or fabric swatch, of the wedding color scheme! Now, I will say that I hadn’t completely made a final decision on our color scheme at that point, however I would have loved to have included our wedding color scheme in the bridal bags! Whatever your color scheme is, or maybe even if you are using certain textures [silk, velvet, patterns, etc.,] add a one or more small swatches into the bag to let your girls in on the event and jump start wedding conversation! Head to your local craft store where you can find tons of different ribbon, swatches and more. If you already have your bridesmaid dresses picked out, order a small swatch of the material to include in the bag, your ladies will love it!
Gifts, gifts, gifts, my favorite part! There is no denying I love to shop, but picking out special gifts for other people is so rewarding! Honestly, it’s really hard not to get carried away when shopping for other people, so I had to draw the line somewhere and not go over board with the little gift bags I created. Things can go from minimal to exploding party box in like 5 seconds! So, be sure to keep things in perspective an ego for quality over quantity! There are sooo many gift options out there, so I wanted to link up some of my favorites for you and divide them in to different categories, to make things a little easier.
Lastly, the key component of the bridal gift bag is a card asking your ladies to be a part of your special day! There are so many wonderful options out there, when it comes to cards. I knew many years ago, before Jay and I were even engaged, that I would get my cards from the Simply Jessica Marie shop! Jessica’s works is beautiful, elegant, classy and just beyond perfect! It was everything I wanted and so much more. Her taste is is feminine and timeless, which are two things we love around here, so it was a match made in heaven!
When it comes to the wording of your cards, the best advice I could give anyone is to be honest and sincere. You love these ladies, or you wouldn’t be asking them to be a part of your special day. Tell them why they are so important to to you, why you want them to be a part of your wedding day and process and most of all thank them for their encouragement, love and support!
